Viaero Wireless to replace CDMA network with Nokia GSM/GPRS gear

DALLAS-Nokia Corp. said it has been selected to be the sole supplier of the GSM network for Viaero Wireless in Colorado and Nebraska.

Nokia will supply a complete system, which includes GSM and GPRS core networks, an EDGE-capable radio network, and management services. The network will replace its CDMA system.

“The choice of GSM/GPRS/EDGE clearly indicates Viaero Wireless’ commitment to providing the latest technology to their customers and roaming partners,” said Heikki Kasko, senior vice president of Nokia Networks.
