DRAPER, Utah-Broadband Central completed a $17.5 million sponsorship agreement with Accelerated Communications Corp. (ACC) of Lehi, Utah, under which ACC will market Broadband Central’s Blue Zones, which provide 1-mile diameter 802.11-compliant coverage, in California, Georgia and Texas.
Broadband Central plans to initially deploy 100 Blue Zones in each of the three states and within a year deploy 2,700 Blue Zones total. Under the new agreement, ACC will resell Broadband Central’s technologies for a share of the profits accrued.
This news follows Broadband Central’s announcement in May it would launch services in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington, with a minimum of 100 sites in each state.
“Our focus is to complete a nationwide infrastructure deployment faster than any other broadband service provider,” said Tali Haleua, chief executive officer of Broadband Central. “Our sponsorship agreement with ACC will allow us to open three important markets and move us closer to that end.”
