KIRKLAND, Wash.-Nextel Partners Inc. said it’s launching a new retail initiative that will see the carrier increase its retail store locations from four to more than 40 by the end of the year. Nextel Partners said the retail outlets will strengthen its business customer base and reach out to high-end wireless customers.
The company expects 10 percent of new customers to come from its retail stores by the end of the year and will increase its low-cost distribution channel sales from 10 percent last year to 20 percent by the end of this year.
First quarter store launches are scheduled for Honolulu; Pensacola, Fla.; Temple and McAllen, Texas; and Charlottesville, Va., which will join current retail outlets in Hawaii and Louisville, Ky.
