ALEXANDRIA, Va.-The Personal Communications Industry Association is urging a California legislator to amend his bill to include tower companies in a plan to lease state lands to wireless service providers.
“Tower companies account for approximately 80 percent of the wireless facilities market in California. Including them in this bill makes good sense for the citizens of California and for our industry,” said PCIA President Jay Kitchen.
The bill proposes to use the lease funds generated to address the digital divide in California. It is pending in committee.
