BEIJING-Nortel Networks said it signed a US$26.8 million GSM contract to supply China Mobile with equipment for the carrier’s cellular network in the Shaanxi province.
The equipment, which will include radio access and core switching equipment, is designed to increase network capacity and services, such as location-based navigation and advertising, prepaid billing and virtual private networks, according to Nortel in a statement.
