ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Performance Technologies Inc. introduced its SEGway IP-STP, an SS7 signaling router that allows carriers to perform traditional STP functions over IP networks.
“Our SEGway IP-STP can concentrate SS7 traffic to offload the demands of existing STPs, or it can bypass the STP entirely to connect directly over an IP network to databases such as SMS servers or HLRs,” explained Reg Cable, vice president of marketing for Performance Technologies. “When combined with our award winning SEGway SS7 link replacement products, IP-STPs offer carriers modular, standards-based solutions to cost effectively transition from today’s SS7 networks to tomorrow’s IP networks architectures.”
Performance Technologies said the product is available now and is already in use with SEGway link replacement devices.
