Europe: Eurotunnel has chosen Alcatel-Lucent to update the communications infrastructure in the Channel Tunnel using its GSM-R solution. The equipment will be functional in 2012, in time for the Olympics in London.
China: China Unicom has selected Huawei’s Femtocell solution. The “3G Inn” service was initially launched in Beijing and is expected to roll out nationally, according to China Unicom.
Poland: Online portal Onet.pl Group has chosen Cisco’s Nexus Platform for its new data center in Krakow.
