ARLINGTON, Va.—E*TRADE Group Inc. announced that its subsidiary, E*TRADE Access Inc., which boasts one of the most extensive ATM networks in the United States, will participate in Boston Communications Group Inc.’s Distribution Partnership Program that provides universal access to prepaid wireless airtime.
The agreement will allow for prepaid wireless phone users to recharge accounts through advanced functionality ATMs. “Partnering with a leader like BCGI for wireless account recharge further enhances our mutual goal of providing customers convenience and value-added functionality through E*TRADE’s integrated multi-touchpoint platform,” said Mitchell Caplan, chief financial products officer and managing director for North America of E*TRADE Group Inc.
The company said deployment of the functionality on E*TRADE ATMs will occur following a pilot in the first half of 2002 and will continue for 12 to 18 months.
