TOKYO—NTT DoCoMo, the leading mobile carrier in Japan, launched a Bluetooth-enabled PHS handset. It is the first Bluetooth-enabled handset offered by NTT DoCoMo.
Users of the PHS handset equipped with Bluetooth version 1.1 can connect the handset with a PC or a digital camera. The handset, which carries a large 65,536 full-color GF LED screen, weighs only 99 grams. The PHS device has 7.5 hours of talking time and 550 hours of waiting time.
The price for the handset is not firmly set, but it is selling at stores for around 10,000 yen (US$79).
