ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Personal Communications Industry Association, proving it is not immune to current economic troubles, cut its work force by 9 positions Wednesday, leaving the industry association with about 50 employees.
“We did this because we needed to scale the operation,” said Betsy Stephenson, PCIA’s senior director of marketing and communication.
The job cuts were across the board, she said, and included all levels of the organization.
While the job cuts were necessary due to the economy, Stephenson said, the organization is still focused on providing its services to its members.
