TAIPEI, Taiwan—Nortel Networks said it has signed an agreement to expand its GSM networks for Chunghwa Telecom for about US$250 million.
“These expansions are expected to increase Chunghwa Telecom’s network capacity to 6.5 million subscribers and will enable Taiwan’s leading telecommunications provider to offer high-performance wireless Internet services across the country,” said Nortel in a statement on the contract, which includes the GSM Gateway Mobile Switching Center.
