STOCKHOLM, Sweden-Columbitech said it demonstrated secure network roaming between a public GSM wireless network and a Bluetooth local wireless hotspot with a handheld device.
The demonstration, held at the Bluetooth Congress in Monte Carlo, featured Columbitech’s wireless connection based on strong encryption, client and server certificates and PKI support, the company said.
Columbitech said it had previously demonstrated the roaming with a laptop, and has now added a device running on Microsoft Corp.’s Pocket PC platform. The company said Palm Inc.’s operating system would come next.
