BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.-Just a week after paging infrastructure provider Glenayre Technologies Inc. announced its plans to drop out of the business, two more companies licensed Motorola Inc.’s two-way paging protocol, ReFLEX.
Standard Telecom, which manufactures Nixxo products and pagers, and Advantra, which designs and manufactures wireless products including telemetry modules and pagers, signed agreements to licenses the ReFLEX protocol.
“We are pleased that the demand for ReFLEX protocol continues to grow,” said Miguel Pellon, vice president and general manager of the Wireless Messaging Division of Motorola.
Glenayre said it was dropping out of the business because of drastically falling revenues in the paging industry.
