ATLANTA-EMS Technologies Inc. has acquired CI Wireless Inc., a supplier of wireless signal distribution products, including repeaters.
With the acquisition, EMS Wireless plans to extend indoor RF coverage with indoor repeaters and fiber-optic-based RF distribution systems. EMS Wireless will also use outdoor repeaters to extend rural area coverage. According to Al Hansen, EMS Technologies’ president and chief executive officer, the company is looking forward to adding active electronics, including repeaters and indoor RF distribution equipment, to its product lines. He explained, “With this acquisition, we have not only expanded our growth potential, but we have saved two to three years of in-house development effort.”
The new product line will be manufactured and engineered in Atlanta and CI Wireless’ founder and president, David McKay, will become vice president of engineering and EMS Wireless.
