FREMONT, Calif.-Vodafone Global Platform and Internet Services (VGP), a division of Vodafone Group plc, has launched Vizzavi, a wireless Web portal based on software infrastructure provider Clickmarks’ software platform.
The portal allows Vodafone wireless subscribers to received personalized content and information on their wireless phones. Categories include news, e-mail, alerts, local traffic and weather, stocks and financial information, surf and ski reports, lottery, humor, classifieds, recipes and greeting cards.
VGP also announced it has licensed AirFlash Inc. to build location-based services, its AirFlash SmartZone development platform, for Vizzavi. These services will include business listings, diving and walking directions, restaurant finder and community applications.
