NEW YORK-Millicom International Cellular S.A., a global telecommunications investor, announced its worldwide operations added 275,436 net new cellular subscribers in the first quarter 2001, a 55% increase from the same time last year.
Significant increases were recorded in Cambodia and Vietnam in Sanbao, in El Salvador and Paraguay in Latin American, in Senegal and Tanzania in Africa and in St. Petersburg and Rostov in Russia.
MIC reported total cellular subscribers to be 3,422,623.
