LAS VEGAS-TSI Telecommunication Services Inc., a global supplier of interoperability solutions, made announcements regarding several newly formed strategic alliances at CTIA Global Wireless 2001.
The company signed a technology agreement with AT&T Wireless Services supporting simplified international roaming capabilities. The agreement will enable AT&T Wireless subscribers to make and receive calls in more than 80 countries supported by TSI. The contract provides AT&T with TSI’s signaling solution, an ANSI-41 call processor that provides interoperability among various revisions of the TIA/EIA ANSI-41 signaling family and seamless translation of international roaming protocols. With the signaling solution, AT&T can use one signaling point code rather than routing to hundreds of switches and networks around the world.
TSI also signed an agreement with EHPT USA Inc., a billing mediation and content management software company, which will enable TSI to deliver a wireless Internet event management solution that addresses profitably managing new business models in the provision of wireless Internet services. The solution is part of TSI’s new suite of services, isolutions@tsi and provides data collection, rating, clearing, settlement and reporting for all parties involved in the delivery of wireless Internet services. It will also allow wireless operators and content providers to negotiate compensation agreements based on actual usage and value of service.
The company agreed to a strategic alliance with Grayson Wireless, a division of Allen Telecom Inc., to deliver E911 Phase II location services. The companies said they will work together to simplify the complexities of Phase II deployment for wireless carriers and enable wireless operators to provide the necessary Phase II location-specific information for wireless callers. Through the alliance, the companies will provide both a wireless caller location system and a mobile positioning center, which are necessary to meet the FCC-mandated Phase II requirements.
Finally, TSI announced a partnership with SigmaOne Communication Corp., a provider of network-based position-determining equipment and location-based service platform. The alliance will enhance TSI’s INPosition mobile position center solution and together these two companies will deliver E911 Phase II services as well as commercial location services.
