SAN DIEGO-Zucotto Wireless Inc. received $35 million in its second round of financing, which was led by Shelter Capital Partners L.L.C. and Baker Capital Corp.
“We are extremely excited about Zucotto’s prospects as the industry leader in semiconductor Java and Bluetooth solutions for the wireless and embedded markets,” said David Kaplan, Shelter Capital Partners’ senior principal.

In other Zucotto news, the company announced its WHITEboard Software Development Kit, Zucotto’s wireless development environment for Java 2 Platform, is now free for developers from the company’s Web site, www.zucotto.com.
“Now certified, we feel we can offer developers the tools they need to design and test MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile)-compliant applications before the hardware is actually available,” said Louanne Capello, Zucotto’s product manager.
The company said it passed the Connected Limited Device Configuration 1.0 and the MIDP 1.0 test suites in the Sun Microsystems Test Compatibility Kit.
