NEW YORK-U.S. Wireless Data completed its previously announced $10 million acquisition of CellGate Technologies, which was made in cash and shares.
U.S. Wireless hopes CellGate, which manufactures integrated wireless Internet protocol modem adapters, will speed its expansion in the fixed wireless market.
“We are pleased to have concluded our acquisition of CellGate,” said Dean M. Leavitt, U.S. Wireless’ chairman and chief executive officer. “It enables U.S. Wireless Data to immediately serve a large universe of traditional retailers that can benefit from the greater speed, lower communications cost, online, real-time reporting, and other benefits of our wireless-based Synapse platform.”
