SAN DIEGO-In a move to get access to BEA Systems Inc.’s WebLogic E-Business Platform and other m-commerce tools and services, Stellcom Inc. agreed to join BEA’s Professional Service Provider program.
Stellcom, a wireless systems integration firm, was previously a BEA Technology Alliance Partner, and worked with the company on e-commerce integration solutions for mutual Fortune 2000 customers.
Now, under Stellcom’s expanded alliance with BEA, the company will join systems integrators and consultants who hope to build focused skill sets and practices around BEA’s technology.
“Proactive companies are looking to Stellcom for the solutions that will help them remain competitive in an increasingly wireless world,” said Tracy Trent, Stellcom’s president and chief executive officer. “Our expanded alliance with BEA will help us provide our customers with uncompromising mobile and e-commerce solutions using the most optimal technology available.”
The new alliance allows Stellcom access to BEA’s WebLogic E-Business Platform, which is built on the Java application server. The WebLogic platform includes WAPBuyBeans, a mobile-commerce program that allows e-commerce applications to be integrated with WAP interfaces.
BEA, an e-business infrastructure software company, also will provide Stellcom with other m-commerce integration tools, as well as training, education, sales and marketing support and a reseller relationship.
“Stellcom is helping to make the mobile economy a reality by aggressively providing wireless Internet solutions, and we look forward to working closely with Stellcom engineers to deliver innovative mobile commerce solutions that meet the need for global scale and absolute reliability,” said Matt Green, BEA’s senior vice president of worldwide operations.
