SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. released its new OmniExpress mobile communications system, a fleet management system with real-time, two-way communications and vehicle position reporting.
Qualcomm said the OmniExpress features an automatic vehicle tracking program, which uses integrated GPS, two-way data communications and store-and-forward messaging. The OmniExpress also has data integration capabilities with routing and scheduling systems, and business-specific office applications, according to the company.
Following the product’s commercial release, Qualcomm signed contracts with Averitt Express, a worldwide provider of freight transportation and logistics solutions, and Hub Group Inc., which provides solutions for intermodal, truckload, international and related logistics services.
