HELSINKI-Ericsson Inc., Motorola Inc. and Nokia Corp. have established the Location Interoperability Forum, dedicated to developing global interoperability between mobile positioning systems, the companies announced.
The LIF will define, develop and promote common and ubiquitous location service solutions. The first applications based on LIF recommendations are expected to be available in 2001.
