The telecom branch of the Austrian Federal Science and Transportation Ministry is soliciting bids for point-to-multipoint wireless local loop spectrum in the 26 GHz frequency band.
Spectrum will be assigned in 10 regions, each consisting of about 174 square miles. Applicants will be allowed to apply for two frequency blocks with a bandwidth of 28 megahertz each.
Frequency assignments will be made after an auction, and applicants will be required to specify the amount they are prepared to offer for one 28 megahertz frequency block in each region.
Applications are due by Jan. 10.
