OSLO, Norway-Telenor Satellite Services AS launched Inmarsat M4 service, a new global area network for multimedia applications that will improve the data transfer capabilities and the mobility of remote communication, said the company.
The Inmarsat M4 will allow users to access up to 64 kilobits per second of data capacity from a any laptop-sized multimedia terminal.
“The global area network provides users remote applications such as e-mail, Internet, e-commerce and image transfer wherever they are,” said Monica Fossnes, marketing manager, Telenor Satellite Services.
Inmarsat M4 service is available through Telenor Satellites’s land earth station in Eik, Norway.
