ORLANDO, Fla.-Systems/Link Corp. introduced its Orion/Call Patterning Intelligence product at the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association’s Wireless Security ’98 conference in Orlando, Fla.
“OrionCPI will change the way wireless carriers look for fraud,” said Dianne Sammer, Systems/Link president and chief executive officer. “This is the first product of its kind that helps carriers control spiraling resource costs by allowing them to outsource fraud analysis to a machine.”
OrionCPI uses proprietary algorithms to identify and learn calling patterns of fraudulent users, said the company. The product is integrated with Systems/Link’s FraudTec 2000 profiler to automate much of the complex analysis that is performed by fraud analysts.
High confidence fraud cases are identified, delivered for confirmation and shut down after only a few calls, said the company.
The new product addresses two goals of Systems/Link, Sammer said. This is the first product the company has released in conjunction with the National Fraud Center, based in Horsham, Pa., which aids large corporations and government agencies with fraud control. The product also does a good job of eliminating false positives, so valued customers are not affected by fraud management. Also, because the product is accurate at eliminating false positives, carriers deploying it will not have to employ as many people to manage fraud, the company noted.
