PALO ALTO, Calif.-Corsair Communications Inc. said it signed an agreement to provide its PhoneCheck wireless performance monitor to Los Angeles Cellular Telephone Co.
PhoneCheck is a software application on the company’s PhonePrint fraud prevention platform that identifies poorly performing phones and their subscribers who may be churn candidates. Carriers using PhoneCheck can contact those customers and take proactive steps to prevent them from churning.
“PhoneCheck is unique in that it allows us to see into the side of our network that we have little control over-our subscribers’ phones,” said Steve Fowler, vice president of customer care at LA Cellular. “Subscribers are frankly amazed by the fact that we can reach out to them like this.”
LA Cellular, which first trialed the system in its market, is the first carrier to implement PhoneCheck, said Corsair.
