NEW YORK-The GSM Alliance L.L.C. is stepping up marketing efforts with a brand-awareness campaign, including the widespread application of its logo, which is designed to convey the group’s North American and international reach and its technical capabilities, said the association.
Alliance members, in their effort to promote Global System for Mobile communications technology, have agreed to integrate the logo with their own branding activities by displaying it on retail packaging and in direct sales materials, print ads, annual reports, Yellow Pages ads and on GSM handsets.
The logo is a stylized gold microprocessor and letters spelling “GSM Alliance” above the defining phrase “World Smart.” The alliance said it collectively has spent more than $25 million on advertising, packaging and other materials.
