INDIANAPOLIS-Isla Communications Co. Inc., a network carrier in the Philippines, has selected Brightpoint Inc. to install and manage its prepaid cellular service.
Brightpoint said it also will provide phone kits, airtime cards, product testing, customized packaging, fulfillment, retail development, distribution, merchandising and end-user customer service support.
The prepaid service, branded Instant Islacom GSM (Global System for Mobile communications), is offered in three product lines and is available at convenience stores, department stores, gasoline stations and traditional telecommunications dealerships.
“Instant Islacom GSM will be the first digital prepaid cellular product in the Philippines. It serves our strategic goal of penetrating a wider consumer base by offering easy access to our cellular service,” said Frederick Dael, president and chief executive officer of Isla Communications.
