SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-Superconductor Technologies Inc. delivered the first of two SuperFilter receiver filter subsystems for personal communications services to an Asian wireless service provider for testing.
The PCS SuperFilter subsystem consists of a high-temperature superconducting filter and a low noise amplifier integrated with a proprietary cryogenic cooler and related electronics.
“The pervasive issues facing the wireless industry today-interference, limited range and the need for compact infrastructure components-can be met by STI’s family of SuperFilter products,” said Daniel C. Hu, president and chief executive officer of the company. “This new order for a cellular subsystem comes from STI’s fifth customer, and we expect to continue to expand our leading position in the industry.”
In addition, the company delivered a wireless communications filtering subsystem to a U.S. government customer.
