ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Metrocall Inc. announced it has established a strategic alliance with Bell Atlantic Corp. to offer paging and messaging services. Bell Atlantic will provide Metrocall paging services under the Bell Atlantic name to a potential market of 15 million consumer and business customers, the company said.
Bell Atlantic will offer local, regional and nationwide paging services to its customers using direct mail and outbound telesales efforts. Customers will save money when they use a Bell Atlantic pager to complement their Answer Call voice mail or cellular phone service, the company said.
“Bell Atlantic’s agreement with Metrocall will allow us to serve the rapidly growing consumer interest in paging services,” said Eric Lunn, manager of Bell Atlantic’s wireless and messaging services. “By offering paging with our Answer Call and cellular services, we’re providing our customers with a complete messaging solution. The pager will alert customers every time they get a new message, so they won’t miss important calls when they’re away from the phone.”
