INTERDIGITAL NOTES ALLIANCES BENEFIT GROWTH IN REVENUE

InterDigital Communications Corp., which leads the pack in terms of percent changes in revenue growth, began to reap the benefits of strategic alliances and patent licensing arrangements in 1995, according to James Garrison, InterDigital’s chief financial officer.

“In the fourth quarter of 1994, we entered into a strategic alliance with Siemens (AG of Munich, Germany,) for product development, patent licensing, marketing, purchasing efficiencies and other things,” Garrison said. “We also have entered into much simpler third-party licensing agreements utilizing our technology.”

Teletouch Communications Inc., which ranks second with a 551 percent increase in revenues in 1995, has gone from one location with 4,000 pagers 18 months ago to multiple sites around the South and Southwest, with 200,000 pagers, according to Fred Sanders, financial analyst for the company.

A key contribution to this expansion was Houston-based Teletouch’s acquisition of Dial-A-Page during the second half of the year, he said.
