ATLANTA-Pager One Inc. announced it has constructed a single frequency paging network in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
The company said it has built 75 sites which operate on the FLEX protocol and will offer FLEX to resellers within its network.
Single frequency paging networks virtually eliminate the delay and loss of signal transmissions, Pager One noted, because it does not overlap systems belonging to separate carriers.
The company said it has received licenses for 45 metropolitan service areas located throughout the United States, and is negotiating the construction of paging networks in Texas, Alabama and Tennessee.
