Verizon Wireless picks up Ohio spectrum from Highland

BECKLEY, W. Va.-Highland Cellular Holdings Inc., which operates a GSM network under the Cellular One brand name in parts of Virginia and West Virginia, said it has sold several 1.9 GHz spectrum licenses to Verizon Wireless. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The licenses include a 15 megahertz slice of a C-block license for the Toledo, Ohio, basic trading area and a 10 MHz slice of a C-block license for the Lima, Ohio, BTA. Together, the licenses cover roughly 1 million potential customers.
