BOSTON, Mass.-LG Electronics Co. Ltd. came out the winner in a recent customer satisfaction study covering mobile-phone owners in the United States and Western Europe.
According to numbers from research and consulting firm Strategy Analytics, LG phone owners reported the highest satisfaction ratings in 17 out of 19 categories in Western Europe and in nine out of 19 in the United States, including “most stylish device.” Of the major brands, Nokia Corp. phone owners were the least likely to consider their devices stylish.
“LG tops the Strategy Analytics Wireless Device Customer Satisfaction Index on both sides of the Atlantic, with an 80-percent satisfaction rating in the U.S. and an impressive 86-percent score in Western Europe,” said Paul Brown, an analyst with Strategy Analytics. “Kyocera Wireless Corp. achieved the second-highest satisfaction rating in the U.S., while Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications L.P. was rated second in Europe.”
Motorola Inc., which commands the No. 1 market-share position in the United States, was ranked sixth overall in the U.S. market across 20 phone attributes. Motorola is the world’s second-largest mobile phone maker, while Nokia is the largest.
