TAMPA, Fla.-Wireless retailer FTS Wireless Inc. reported a deal with regional wireless operator MetroPCS Inc. to sell MetroPCS’ unlimited calling service in the Tampa, Fla., area. FTS said it has secured approval for certain FTS Wireless locations to begin selling MetroPCS products and services as soon as Oct. 1.
MetroPCS currently serves more than 1.5 million customers in Miami, Atlanta, San Francisco and Sacramento, Calif. The carrier acquired additional spectrum licenses covering the Tampa area last year, and recently was the high bidder for a handful of spectrum licenses in the Federal Communications Commission’s Auction 58.
