Spectrum licenses in the 1.9 GHz band covering a large swath of forested, rural Northern California have been sold for an undisclosed amount. Triad Holdings L.L.C. sold its E Block license covering Redding, Calif., and its D Block license covering Eureka, Calif., to Chickasaw Wireless Inc.
The licenses cover a total population of around 450,000 people in some of the northernmost reaches of California.
The United States is divided into almost 500 BTAs for the 1.9 GHz spectrum licenses with each of those areas divided into at least six blocks, many of which are subdivided even further.
Triad, which confirmed that the sale has closed, was represented by RBC Daniels L.P. in the transaction.
