Through her consulting firm, Intercambio, Chelsea creates partnerships and encourages engagement in the areas of entrepreneurship, economic development, technology policy and social+civic good. As a 2016 Eisenhower Fellow, Chelsea is studying Smart Cities in the U.S. and China, comparing best practices and highlighting policies that promote investment and innovation. Her work is showcased on Digi.City.
She is active in several start-ups and is Co-Founder of Wake Up a professional and personal development workshop series; Co-Founder of Impact Hub Austin, shared workspace, events and programming connecting the Austin community to a global movement for good; and Co-Founder of Mable, affordable, modular furniture produced from sustainable materials and manufactured in the USA.
She is active in several organizations that encourage economic solutions to global challenges including St. Edward’s University’s Dean’s Advisory & Development Council for The Bill Munday School of Business, The Seton 50, the World Economic Forum Global Shapers, UnltdUSA and Food + City. She is a Leadership Austin graduate (2010), a BPE Ascendant Award recipient (2013), and Austin Under 40 Award recipient in Science & Technology (2015).
Previously she served as: Executive Director of Texans for Economic Progress (a statewide technology coalition); was the Founding Director for RISE (an annual Austin-based entrepreneurs conference), Marketing Director at MPOWER Labs (a mission-focused fintech start-up) and served in the Governor’s Office in Economic Development.
Chelsea has masters and bachelor degrees in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.
