NATIONWIDE SET TO MEET ON PROPOSED MCI MERGER

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.-Nationwide Cellular Service Inc. has scheduled a special meeting of its stockholders for Sept. 19 to vote on the proposed merger of Nationwide with MCI Communications Corp. Stockholders of record July 24, 1995, will be eligible to vote.

MCI will pay about $190 million in cash for Nationwide, which claims 275,000 to 300,000 customers and is the nation’s largest reseller of cellular service.
