ATLANTA-BellSouth Corp.’s Cellemetry Business Unit announced it has signed five new carriers to provide its Cellemetry Data Service.
The carriers are Aliant Cellular, Glacial Lakes Cellular 2000, Illinois Valley Cellular, Carolina West Wireless and Dobson Cellular System. The additions fill out Cellemetry’s coverage in North Dakota and other areas.
BellSouth also said it successfully completed certification trials with systems developer AerComTec International Inc. for a new technology that will allow fleet operators to track mobile assets using the Internet. AerComTec’s AERTRAX asset location system uses the Cellemetry service to transmit the information.
