DULLES, Va.-America Online Inc. appointed Dennis Patrick president of the company’s AOL Wireless division.
The former senior advisor to the company’s chief operating officer, Bob Pittman, Patrick will be responsible for AOL’s wireless strategy and operations, including new initiatives and partnerships.
“As wireless emerges as one of our major `AOL Anywhere’ initiatives, we are delighted that Dennis is expanding his role with the company to head this key new division,” noted Pittman. “Our members increasingly want access to the same convenient and easy-to-use information and tools available on the AOL service on devices beyond the (personal computer).”
Prior to joining AOL, Patrick was president and chief executive officer of Doeg Hill Ventures L.L.C., a closely held venture capital company focused on early-stage investments in wireless telecommunications business enterprises.
