BEIJING-Sina.com, an Internet media and services company geared toward the Chinese community, signed separate memoranda of understanding agreements with L.M. Ericsson, Motorola Inc. and Siemens in China to deliver content to wireless Internet consumers using Wireless Application Protocol technology.

According to the agreements, Sina.com will be responsible for providing content to the companies’ WAP-enabled devices, including news, finance, e-mail, sports and weather forecasts.

In addition, Sina.com plans to make available the “MySina” feature, which will allow wireless Internet users to receive customized news and financial information.

“Creating local content and applications is very important to structure the Chinese mobile Internet market,” explained David Almstrom, vice president of business strategies for Ericsson China Co. Ltd. “Therefore, we work closely with leading local content providers like Sina.com to develop effective mobile Internet offerings for the mobile users in China.”
