SAN DIEGO—Qualcomm Inc. reported it demonstrated video streaming through a cdma2000 1x/Bluetooth connection at the recently held Cellular Telecommunication & Internet Association I.T. show.
Using a 1x handset with the company’s MSM5100 Mobile Station Modem chipset and system software connected through a laptop via a Bluetooth dial-up network, Qualcomm said the chipset provided data rates exceeding 144 kilobits per second over the wide area network. The Bluetooth connection reportedly provided comparable data rates over the wireless personal area network.
