CANNES, France—Bitfone Corp. is demonstrating its mProve solution, which delivers firmware and software updates to mobile phones over the air, this week in Cannes, France, at the 3GSM World Congress.
Mprove is capable of updating core operating systems and major applications including micro-browsers, Java virtual machines (JVMs) and messaging applications. Bitfone said the solution reduces warranty and recall costs, lowers customer service costs, and decreases customer churn. “mProve meets the demand of wireless users to update phones in their hands, rather than through replacement or service center visits,” explained Gene Wang, chairman and chief executive officer of Bitfone Corp.
