SAN DIEGO—AT&T Wireless Services Inc. launched its GSM/GPRS network in San Diego including the rollout of its recently introduced mMode wireless data service.
The carrier said customers should expect data speeds of around 30 kilobits per second when accessing the network through a wireless handset and around 40 kbps when accessing through a personal digital assistant or a laptop equipped with a wireless modem.
