OKLAHOMA CITY—Dobson Communications Corp. said it added 17,200 net subscribers during the recently completed first quarter, well below the 37,000 customers it added for the same quarter last year.
The company noted its postpaid customer churn of 2.2 percent, while higher than last year’s 2 percent, was within its guidance and decreased during the quarter from 2.4 percent in January to 2.1 percent in March.
“Lower churn in March resulted in the company adding more than half of our first quarter proportionate net additions in March,” said Everett Dobson, chairman and chief executive officer of Dobson.
