HOLTSVILLE, N.Y.-Symbol Technologies Inc., which makes rugged mobile and wireless devices, said it filed a counter suit against Hand Held Products Inc., alleging the company infringed on 12 Symbol patents.
HHP previously filed a patent infringement suit against Symbol.
Symbol said the patents cover bar code readers, batch and wireless integrated terminals and engines.
As the economic slowdown continues, patent issues have sprung up all over the wireless industry as players look to solidify their position and ward off competitors.
