SANTA CLARA, Calif.-Royal Philips Electronics announced several new mobile-phone products, including three new handsets based on technology from Cellon International.
Targeting the Asian and European market, the phones feature increased talk time, built-in games and color screens. The new models, which will be launched during the second quarter, include the Xenium 9@9++, the Philips 630 and the Philips 330.
Separately, Philips said it will jump into the growing camera-phone market with a new color camera module for sale to handset manufacturers. The company said its new Compact Clam Color Camera satisfies manufacturer demand for integrated display modules that can be quickly and easily added to new mobile phones to create feature-rich products. Full production-ready modules are scheduled for availability in the fourth quarter.
