Telstra to deploy hot spots in Australia

MUNICH, Germany-Siemens announced that Australia’s Telstra has selected a solution from Siemens and Juniper Networks to provide new public wireless local area network services. The new hot spots will enable Internet access for business travelers and consumers and will be offered in public areas, including Qantas Club lounges and Rydges hotels.

The value of the agreement was not disclosed.

“To maintain our position as Australia’s leading mobile communications providers, we must build upon our momentum by continuing to develop and enhance the portfolio of services that we offer our customers,” said Lynda O’Grady, Telstra chief of products, consumer and marketing.
