PARIS-The WLAN Smart Card Consortium said it has released an updated smart card specification known as WLAN-SIM V1.0, which will allow hot-spot operators to extend subscriber identity module technology for authentication.
“This specification utilizes industry-endorsed standards for authentication-802.1x and EAP-and complements the WPA key management specification,” said the consortium.
