SAN DIEGO-Kyocera Wireless Corp. and Cellular One have made the Kyocera Aktiv wireless handset available to Cellular One subscribers.
The durable, rubbberized CDMA phone is targeted at users with active lifestyles. It features a color display, polyphonic ring tones, global positioning system technology, wireless Internet access e-mail and text messaging, and gaming capabilities.
“Aktiv offers great form and function for a wide range of customers from soccer moms to mountain climbers to students with the most popular features including wireless Internet access, stereo-quality ring tones, and the handy flashlight,” said Jerry Gallegos, vice president of marketing at Western Wireless Corp., parent of Cellular One.
The phone will become available Sept. 5 free with a $40 per month, two-year service agreement.
